mom gets arrested for disciplining her kids...

... and guess, so could you.

"Don't make me pull this car over!" "I will turn around right now!" "I swear I'll make you get and walk!" ... the latter is what one mom did. She followed through with her threat; unlike so many other parents, and ends up in police custody and banned from further contact from her children.

I think the only lesson her 10 and 12 year old daughters learned is that they got "one up" on mom. Is it any wonder most kids and young adults these days are spoiled self indulgent beasts.

I'll guess you may even be reading about me in the news one day.

Gosh, I always make the child in the car that's making us cry get out ,and stand on the sidewalk until our pain dissapears. Or until I feel better. I usually choose a nice cul-da-sac. Some kids walk though, and wont stand there. Then you have to play hard ball with them. It's to your advantage if it's cold outside - this process goes quicker. They won't die. They're just standing outside of the car. Prairie people did it all of the time.

Some Mom somewhere is going to have to take one of her older abusive kids to court to stop this parental kind of abuse, and demand rights for parents across the nation parents are being abused.

Many parents just live with a deep hatred and resentment towards these children instead of settling these matters once, and for all.

We have to parent as we see fit ,and trust that God will protect us. It's the most importiant thing that we do, and we will have to answer to God , not the state for how we succeeded or failed.

Unfortunately, it's no laughing matter. I've never spoken of this to anyone before, and probably will never mention it again (and I'm posting anonymously to protect my identity), but I know from personal experience that even a minor incident of publicly disciplining your kids can land you in legal hot water.

A little over 2 years ago, our whole family went shopping. We were eating in the food court area at one store, when my oldest (then just short of his 5th birthday) got up from the table and started running around. After my admonishing him several times to sit down, followed by his ignoring me and culminating in his knocking over a huge soft drink and spilling it all over the place, I grabbed him, picked him up, and attempted to sit him back down at the table.

Unfortunately, his knee hit the table top as I was trying to put him in his chair, and my overly dramatic son proceeded to scream bloody murder. Some busybody asshole couple decided that I had "abused" my kid and called the cops. (If I ever meet them again, they'll have good reason to call the cops, as I WILL be guilty of physically abusing someone on that occasion.)

To make a long story short, a visit to the clink and about $1000 in legal fees later, the stupid charges were eventually dismissed.

Don't think it can't happen to you.

I feel your pain. Once I picked up a child that was misbehaving at Mass, and I began to take her outside when she exclaimed for the entire church to hear.....
Don't beat me !!

These dramatic meltdowns are parental abuse to be sure, and my children have hurt THEMSELVES before during my correction .
I've had children get mad about their punishments and lay on the floor , and slam their heads on the ground. I've had more than one rebel at the same time nearly causing a coupe.
I am always begging God for direction ,assistance, and protection.

Most often before I discipline my children I will ask them this question....
Do you want to do this the easy way or the hard way. I need to know so that we can proceed further. That lays the groundwork for what comes next. My son Joseph
will NEVER EVER be allowed into a toy r us again or our local camping store, and when we drive by ,and he begs to go in I remind him of what had happened before.

The problem here is that people don't have many if any children, and they don't understand how a "herd o' children" can turn on you ,and crush you.
I don't believe in beating or abusing children, but I won't allow myself to be abused either, and if your causing me emotional or mental pain you will be removed from the rest of the family, and I don't care if that means that you sleep with Buster our dog for a night or two on a cot- with a jesus night light, and a snack.

I look at this in shock. I want kids but cant have kids. i Grumble at God becasue of it. then i look at what this society does to parents who try to bring up kids well and i look up at God and say ok ok maybe you have your reasons. I am a disciplinarian, Crescat the methods you use are good and work, as does a spankingfrom time to time. turning the car around when the kids misbehave etc.
My wife says i would be in jail by now if we had kids.
i dont know. but the state interference into the duty of parenting is wrong.
