There's another thing that needs to be brought back -- well, two other things. One is the Communion rail. The other is the paten. The law of gravity is still in effect; so when did dropping the Host on the floor cease to be a problem?

I've always wondered why they stop using the paten. Although, I've only seen our priest drop a host once or twice in many years, and it's usually at the altar when his vestments sweep across and knock a few to the ground.

I also like the idea of the communion rail. I see so many people who don't bow to the host like they should, most just grab it and walk away chewing it as if it's a nacho chip or something. Very sad, the lack of reverence.

I'm pretty sure the deacon is a friend of mine!

Where'd you get the shot, cannonball?

Where is this church? Its beautiful! Our priest used to use the patens and when he changed post our new priest didn't use them. We already have them, so why not use them???
