The Moving of the Serbs, painting by Paja Jovanović, portrays the Serbian Orthodox Patriarch Arsenije III Carnojevic, surrounded by soldiers, flocks of sheep and women with babies, leading some 36,000 families from his seat in Pec, Kosovo and Southern Serbia to what is now Vojvodina and further to Hungary in 1690, after Serbian revolts failed.
For this guy.

I love history paintings. And I love Serbs, even though this sad chapter of their (temporary) defeat by the murderous Turks is upsetting. Thanks so much for posting this!
PS Kosovo is Serbia!
God Bless You! This is one of my favourite paintings!
Kosovo je SRBIJA!!!
It's sad the migration is happening again today... Fleeing our homes in Kosovo and Krajina (I was born in Knin)...
