What church is that?

I do not like that monstrance one tiny bit.

Dymphna, it's at St. Stan's in Chicago. Perpetual adoration, though, and it's always got a decent crowd, so there's that.

Cathy - I don't either - it is much too distracting from the Blessed Sacrament and too heavy on theological symbolism as well as dictating a Biblical/Marian symbolism/dimension as well. It limts and confines the Eucharistic mystery - i.e. the Real Presence.

She is the "gate of heaven" after all. If we would come to Christ we ought also to come to her.

Well, Our Lady is the living tabernacle. It's unusual but I kinda like it.

Yes, she is. And I like it too, although I understand where the others are coming from. I don't think it detracts from the Real Presence at all. In fact it illuminates it. I would not want to see all monstrances like this. But if we are living as we are supposed to live...and are becoming holy, in Him, with Him and through Him...then WE become living monstrances. We would do well to imitate Mary our mother in this. Christ is ALWAYS at the center of it all. (just came from Adoration)
