In the Seventies, Love meant "never having to say you are sorry ("Love Story, blech!)...Where did that get us?Serial marriages; divorce, STD's, loneliness, unwanted pregnancies (some, most aborted), et. al.Today, we need men and women who are willing to say "I do", mean it, and live with it, no matter what...That's also with religious life; we're going through the same crisis as marriage is...you live for others in the Catholic faith or you die spiritually...it's that simple. No matter what vocation. That's the cross. That is the baptismal call. That is following Jesus Crucified and Risen.
As yes..true love.."From the moment I saw her she captured my heart...." And of course the all-time absolute heart-wrenching love story-- "Somewhere in Time," with Jane Seymour and Christopher Reeve.. bring your box of Kleenix...and a pint of Ben & Jerry's...SaraCan you believe my word verification is "merried" ??
True love is an act of the will, not of the heart. Emotion fades, true love lasts.I waited for mine, and it came along when I least expected it, so you must be getting plenty close. Hang in there. God knows what He's up to.
