it has been decided...

... I am going to Malta for the Papal visit this April.

I have saved the airfare, all I lack is the cost for accommodations. At one time I was discussing with a fellow blogger and priest the idea of a pilgrimage to Italy. Ideally, this group rate would keep costs down. I am still open to the idea.

I will be in Malta April 12th - 19th. I am considering staying an additional week in Italy.

Anyone else out there giving serious consideration to making a pilgrimage to Malta for the Papal visit? However, if you can't make it to Malta, perhaps consider making a small donation to my Malta Money Jar and live vicariously through me!

I'm excited for you. Wish I had money - but I will pray that generous donors stop by and push your donation button. Does teddy bear get to go with you? (Your son.)

No. I think he's too young for a event that will be that crowded.
Thanks for the prayers. I hope I can get a tuppence or two in the jar.

I would love to go if I could. I wonder if they have hostels for pilgrims there where you can stay for very little. Most pilgrimage sites in Europe do. They may even have places to stay that are free.

Hmmmm.. now that you mention it, being an Oblate I can crash any monastery.

Does the Pope know?

If I donate $10 will this get me some postcards? You don't have to send them until you get back to the states, heck, you don't even have to write anything on them. I collect postcards, and Malta would be a very nice addition.

Wow! Never thought of that - 'does the Pope know'. Now this is scary, maybe I should call Monsignor Ganswein and tell him he should keep an eye on you... LOL! You little -

well... it all depends on if I meet my budget goal. I suppose I could just get there and sleep on the street. :-P
