My brother's gym used to be in our basement. On the ledge rests the hot-water heater, and one day, we happened to see that a huge black snake was coiled underneath. We christened him, "Walter the Workout Snake." Some neighbor boys were determined they were going to come into our basement and kill Walter. Mama ran them off. She treasured Walter as a controller of rodents. Alas, Walter molted and left. So, no more Walter.

There are no snakes in Italy, except the two legged variety of course. Just sayin'.

Praise Jesus!
I was prayin', and prayin', and prayin' that your cat, the Boy, or you did not encounter said serpent.
They may be good rodent killers, but what a thing to encounter in the middle of the night when you gots to got to the bathroom...believe me, I encountered mice at that awful hour once and that wasn't pleasant (our good dog took care of them!)...can't imagine even a garter snake!

I think today is one of the few good uses of the Is Outrage option.

It's an outrage that mothers the world over have to go through these sorts of things...

Earth Day or not, there are certain types of nature that would not be nurtured in my house.
