It is not ment to be right now. Time to fall back, regroup, and replan for a later date.
Kat, if God had to go to all the trouble of exploding a volcano in Iceland in answer to the Swiss Guards' prayers for deliverance, just think how special that makes you :-)
If only the volcano had exploded AFTER you got there....I haven't read down-thread yet...I hope you are able to get a refund and re-plan your trip.[I've been sitting here with my fingers on the keys, but everything I think to type is a terrible downer.]I'm so sorry you can't go now...but God wouldn't have put this desire in your heart just to let you down. You'll get there!
Yes He does.
Isn't making you crazy what family is all about? Maybe I've been doing this wrong all along.... ;)
I will always remember when I was in a bookshop here in the UK and I picked up "Jesus of Nazareth" by Pope Benedict XVI and some random person came up to me and said; "You don't want to read anything written by him..." then he went on a mad rant about the 'Whore of Babylon'.So to prove how adult I am I stopped him mid-sentence, said I'd pray for him and went to pay for the book.
After 60 years at this Catholic life, all I can say is sometimes you just have to go eyeball to eyeball with Jesus and say, "Lord, to whom can I go? I have no place else to go. If you want me to stay here with my crazy fam & my useless airline ticket etc etc, then here I am." For what its worth, He's always pulled it out. He has a 100% record in my life so far.
Ever think about a trip to Africa, or South America, or the South Pacific instead?
I am so going to trademark that term someday . . .
Poor Baby Jesus! He's crying a lot these days, I'm afraid...Hang in there, Kat.God will get you there in His time.
Hi! I've been following you for a while, and am now starting up my own blog: Kissing the Leper. Check it out at www.kissingtheleper.blogspot.comIf you like what you see, add me to your list of Catholic bloggers!
A while back I was grousing about my family, and a friend told me, "In this life, you get to pick your friends and lovers, but you're stuck with your family". And so we all are. All you can do for your crazy family members is pray for them and try to love them as best you can. P&B.
