I had the same question Dymphna but then realized that His sensei, being the One who invented Karate (and everything else in the Universe), is probably a real stickler for perfection so it must be really difficult to make black belt in Heaven.

I had the rare opportunity to go inside one--the Bountiful Utah temple before it was dedicated..I had a Mormom friend go with me to explain everything...the Baptismal font where theybatpize folks "in proxy" and the sealing rooms where you are sealed to your husband/wife "for all eternity" are especially interesting...
Temples are a REALLY GOOD place to sprinkle Miraculous Medals.. :)hehehe
Thank-you for bringing back unwanted memories of my experiences as an elementary student at a Christian school run by an Assemblies of God church... pictures like this were everywhere...

Isn't that a bit "Mormon"...just askin;?:<)!
I saw the temple around DC from a distance...this just conjures up memories of that!
I think we should be grateful that he's wearing a T-shirt under his karate outfit.
I didn't know that Jesus' appearance changes with the cultural decades.
Maybe that is why fashion and looks change... it isn't cultural influence. It is the fact we are made in his image and therefore must reflect it.
We need to find some sweet early 80's jesus art.
I only want to know two things: why is He wearing a bath-robe and why would anyone sign their name to this?
Why is the Lord only a blue belt?

LOL Dymphna!
In His left hand? Samari sword.
Two out of three throws, and you can come in!!
divine mullet: judgment in the front and mercy in the back?
Is it me or does Jesus look like a young Barry Gibbs in this one?!

I'm sorry; that does not make me think karate. That robe makes it looks amazingly like a 1970s-ish Harlequin cover.
Cath: Ewwww...
Now I have to wash my brain out with lye:<)!
