things I find humorous ...

... the fact that I will be Ljubljana for their annual American Days, a celebration of American heritage. Festivities include pioneer covered wagons, live country and Cajun music, real cowboys and a hot dog eating contest. Nothing like traveling across the North Atlantic to experience your own culture... or some humorous bastardization of it anyway.

PLEASE keep a diary; and take pictures...this sounds absolutely "off the wall"!
Why,oh why is America the "point of reference", esp. in Europe? I don't get it (but I'm dumb, also!).

They didn't have American days all those years ago. Kmetci Ohcet, sure.

When I was there in the 80's, due to the extreme ruralness of some areas, they had no concept that Little House on the Prairie and Dynasty were not taking place concurrently as many rural areas had no electricity, indoor plumbing or phone service.
