Vermeer...

... girl with red hat.

A print of this hangs in my home sharing wall space with Matisse.

I'm a big fan of him. Did you see the movie about him with Colin Firth? I like it for several reasons, including that it's a pleasure to our eyes.

I saw this I think. Isn't it part of the National Gallery's collection in DC? What an amazing gallery. Rooms ful of Vermeers, Raphaels, Rembrandts...

I was in a kind of art-ecstasy. I almost cried, so amazingly terrific was it.

Kat, thank you so much. Finally I know the correct title. Mistakenly I've always referred to it as, Girl With Red Floor Duster.

I love Vermeer! There are many contrasts in this painting: the reds and rich colors evoke emotion yet the person emits calm and perhaps hesitancy. Crescat, you spoil us rotten; Fine Art Friday and great music on Tuesdays! Thanks for brightening up the week!

Lovely painting, and I love Vermeer.
Where do you pick up these prints? I'd love buy some too.

Excellent! Some day I'd like to own a print of Vermeer's Allegory of the Catholic Faith: http://www.johannesvermeer.org/33/allegory-of-faith/

Owen, sorry, but it is actually "girl wearing red faux-fur commode cover".
