Feed Us with Your Beauty...

... an adaption of a post I wrote "on beauty..." was edited for publication in Patheos.

I am not sure it was well received, as Patheos draws a more diverse readership. However, it did provide an opportunity to polish up my writing skills and work with Elizabeth Scalia, The Anchoress. She sought me out after reading the original post and worked with me on the editions. I owe her my many thanks.

I read it there and here. I thought it was good. You're right -- we need more beauty.

I thought it was excellent. My heroes were/are the Anglo-Catholic slum priests in London and the dock towns who took beauty to people living in miserable poverty and fought with the water companies to avert cholera. I have never understood why so many Christians seem to think it's beauty OR justice rather than beauty AND justice. And, of course, I do like writers who practice what they preach as you certainly do with so many photos of mantillas and Msgr Ganswein :)

It was wonderful! So totally put what I have always felt but been unable to express so eloquently into words. Thank you - I passed on to several of my Catholic friends, some who might appreciate it, and some who - um - might have needed to hear it. Don't know what the other comments were about on Patheos, but keep it coming!
