you may be a Catholic nerd if...

... you unintentionally paint each room of your new home a different color corresponding with the liturgical seasons of the Church.

That is a great idea!

Only if it's done accidentally but doing it intentionally makes you totally cool

A number of years ago, when our family was still homeschooling, there were a couple of moms who were into "liturgical dressing". They made jumpers in green, purple, white, etc., and wore them according to the liturgical calendar.

I did not indulge in this practice.

I had planned to stencil/paint a vine along the top of the walls in my living/dining room, with the leaves randomly placed. Then I took a Gregorian chant class and got the idea to place the leaves in place of notes with the vine being the chironomy.

The leaves are up but not the vine yet. So now I have Asperges me, Tantum Ergo, and Credo decorating the walls, it's pretty neat. Someday I'll finish it.

What if you have a rose accent in the Advent/Lent purple room? That could be a little ... hard on the eyes ... if it's not done right.

tonsure tip to me for coming up with that idea on your effbook status. Not that I'm looking for credit as your house designer or anything, eh

Oy, Fr. Erik ... certainly that pun should be accounted a venial sin. And I wish I'd said it first.
