one more opinion on Father Corapi...

... too bad I don't have one to offer; because I don't follow Celebrity Priests. Yawn.

Fr Corapi is one great priest!

He helped me and my wife come back to the Church after years of us engaging in "CINO" make believe.

God bless this great priest!

Prayer is more powerful than commentary. I'm rather disappointed in catholic bloggers these days. "We love dirty laundry" keeps ringing in my head. How sad.

The only thing this Fr. Corapi scandal has done to me is, it's made me even more grateful for my hard-working, humble, not-a-great-preacher but VERY orthodox, normal little parish priest. God bless Fr. B____!

Lina- so true- let this sad situation- whatever the truth is- remind us to pray for priests....but priests also have a DUTY to pray and work through their salvation with FEAR and trembling....satan hates them the most

plus- I LOVE the yawning pic- I don't follow either ;)

I don't follow celebrity priests, either (though I do like Fr. Z's blog). However, I am thinking of all the good and faithful priests who are taking it on the chin because of this affair. It is one more log on the bonfire of the world's cynicism.

Join me in my 54-day Rosary novena for the Pope, priests and bishops.

I've ignored the whole thing myself and refuse to stoop so low as to get involved dishing a priest.

What?

It is a real shame that more people don't realize priests are human and prone to sin. If less people idolized super star priests this would be a non-issue... uh, the unspoken point of my post... for those who are clever enough.

I do not think that most people "idolize" Fr Corapi.
In the first place most who pay attention to him are at least somewhat serious about the Catholic Faith and know that the first Commandment absolutely forbids idolizing a creature.

I believe that people give alot of attention to Fr Corapi, and rightly so, because he has brought the knowledge of the Truth to many, many people who are starving for the Truth and do not get it elsewhere.
It is not realistic to deny the charisma that Fr Corapi has been given, and, the way people rightly respond to it It is powerful.
That is why so many men know and either love his words of Truth or reject them.
The devil hates and attacks good and influential priests like that.
Fr Corapi would be the first to acknowledge he is not a superstar but his lucid preaching of the Truth makes him a big target for the masses,
Like Christ.

Pretty much a tie with this one http://seraphicgoestoscotland.blogspot.com/2011/06/father-corapi.html I'd say but who the H E double hockey sticks cares what I'd say? I've posted nothing so really, I guess mine is the best post on the subject as tied with Terry's non post which I haven't read but I don't want to add my name who manage to offend others by not posting on it. Golly, it's so complicated.

@Linda, what you said - Amen. I love it when a Messenger speaks. At least I think it might be you, well, and if not, you still nailed it.

Father Corapi was a powerful and orthodox Roman Catholic priest. I enjoyed listening to him, and he strengthened my faith.

Now, he has, without being asked to do so by anyone, voluntarily decided to lay down the title of Father to become Mister Corapi. Now I have absolutely no interest in what he has to say. I've got plenty of cafeteria Catholics around me already.

The differences between him and Father Pflueger? Father Pflueger decided to stay with the Church, and I can still call him Father. Corapi? Now he's just another mouthy wop like me.

(Yeah, yeah, a-priest-forever and all that, but Corapi's willfully dropping his fatherhood and smearing the Church, his mother. He loses.)

With the exception of Frs. Z, Longenecker and Pavone, right?

Father Corapi has taught thousands of more people about the Truth than Fr Zuhlsdorf.
He is one of the great "Alter Christus".
